Katharine McPhee has a message for the haters criticism on her engagement to David Foster, who is 34 years her senior: Worrying about the vote and the mid-term elections take place.
McPhee, 34, defended her fiance in a tweet on Friday saying: “Y’all need to worry more about registering to vote, and the mid-term elections than to marry me.”
“Thank you for coming to my TED talk,” she added to the tweet.

The “Waitress” star announced this week that she and the music mogul got engaged during a romantic trip to Capri, Italy.
KATHARINE MCPHEE SHOWS HOW DAVID FOSTER SUGGESTED: ‘HE DID IT ON THE TOP OF THE MOUNTAIN’
“He did it on the top of the mountain in Anacapri. Completely dark, with only stars. Thankfully he didn’t push me off the cliff. He said that one or the other. And in the end that he spared me,” McPhee said.
After the news of their engagement, it was revealed Foster had attended McPhee’s marriage with her first husband, Nick Cokas, in 2008 and even played piano as the singer sang Natalie Cole and Nat King Cole’s hit “Unforgettable.”
Foster and McPhee were rumored to be dating in May 2017 after being spotted at a dinner in Malibu. Later, the two have confirmed that they were, in a few month when she appeared at the Gala together. The pair became friends after the meeting of the “American Idol” in 2006.
This will be Foster’s fifth marriage. He was recently married to the “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Yolanda Hadid for the announcement of their separation in 2015. This will be McPhee’s second marriage.
