A Kansas city letter carrier was not able to see some of these Postal Service duties on Friday, after finding a ball python squirmed on a person’s mailbox, police said.

The scaly creature was found, wrapped around the wall-mounted mailbox and a railing outside a resident’s house, the Overland Park Police said on Twitter.

Once discovered, the carrier called for the help of animal control, police said.

“The poor inhabitant has not received their e-mail today (of course),” the police said, before joking that the officers tried to convince animal control “to the hose under the @OPPD_Chief desk, but they won’t.”

The snake, which appeared at the Broadmoor Street, is believed to have separated from a neighboring house, the police told The Kansas City Star. The authorities in the hope someone extends about a missing snake, Officer John Lacy said the outlet.

After the conquest, the python was brought to the Great Plains SPCA, Lacy said.
