A Kansas city man pleaded guilty Thursday to strangling his girlfriend and then push her to her death from the balcony of a cruise ship off the coast of Florida last year, according to federal prosecutors.
Topeka resident, Eric Duane Newman, 55, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in the march of 2018 with the killing of his ex-girlfriend, Tamara Tucker, 50, “with malice aforethought,” the Justice Department said in a news release.
Eric, Mr Newman has pleaded guilty to the murder of his ex-girlfriend is on a cruise ship last year.

The couple had been on a Carnival cruise from Jacksonville, Fla., at the End, and you will be staying in a cabin on the 13th deck of the ship.
He admitted during his plea hearing in federal court in Kansas city that the couple had been arguing before the murder. He told me that he was being strangled I pushed her over to the cabin room and the balcony railing to the deck 11. Tucker died of blunt-force trauma caused by the fall.
At the time of the cruise, the ship was about 30 nautical miles from New Smyrna Beach, Florida.

Newman’s sentencing has been scheduled for March 18, 2020, before Chief U.s. District Judge Julie A. Robinson.
