“I had literally just gone to find this phone to tell you I want to talk with you about the media leak strategy with the DOJ, before you go,” Strzok texted page on April 10, 2017, according to meadows, the quoted recently created documents from the Ministry of justice.

In response, Strzok lawyer, Aitan Goelman, the line in question, referred to an effort to stop leaks.

“The term ‘media-leak strategy’ in Mr Strzok text refers to a Department-to recognize-wide initiative and to stop leaks to the media. The President and his “enablers” are once again peddling baseless conspiracy theories to deceive the American people,” he said in a statement.

On April 22, though, Strzok said, “is article! Well the page is made,” and on April 12 he told her that two negative articles on the page “namesake” would be coming soon, according to meadows. This was an obvious reference to Carter page, of the former trump-adviser, the FBI monitored for months after the receipt of a warrant from the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) court. Meadows’ first letter to Rosenstein explains, “Well done, page,” text was sent on April 12, but in an updated letter Tuesday, he noted that it is true, in fact, later in the month.

The SMS-exchange “should lead reasonable people to question, to examine whether there is a sincere desire, misconduct or derogatory information in the media to justify to continue to probe,” meadows, who serves on the House Oversight Committee, wrote.
