Jussi Smollett could reprise his role as Jamal Lyon on “Empire” for the last time.
The actor has been written out of the show after his claims of being the victim of a hate crime in Chicago is in question, between January and April.
Smollett, 37, was absent from the show’s sixth and final season, but the showrunner Molly Brett said that there was a chance that he / she can come back after all.

Molly is revealed to TV Line that Smollett’s return is being discussed.” However, he said that there were “no plans” to get the actor back.
“It would be silly in my mind at the end of a family show and a family drama, of which he was a significant part of him,” said Mahoney. “It’s fair to say that it has been discussed, but it is not going to bring him back. There is as yet no decision has been made.”

In January, Smollett had told the police that he was attacked by two masked men as he was walking to the home of the Chicago Subway, the sandwich shop at about 2 pm, The openly gay actor, who alleged that the masked men beat him, taunted him with homophobic and racist remarks, and yelled, “This is a BIG country.”

After prosecutors dropped the case in March, and Smollett to maintain his innocence, but agreed to allow the authorities to keep a share of $10,000 bail.
