COLUMBUS, Ohio – A jury has convicted a man accused of kidnapping, rape and killing of an Ohio State University student. The Franklin County jury in Columbus found Brian Golsby guilty Tuesday.
The 30-year-old registered sex offender could face the death penalty in the killing of the last year of the 21-year-old Reagan Lifting.
Golsby pleaded not guilty. Messages seeking comment to his lawyer.
The plaintiffs claim that the Columbus man kidnapped Lifting after they leave, and then raped and murdered her.
Tokes’ body was found in February 2017 in a park in Grove City, about 10 miles (16 kilometers) southwest of Columbus.
The researchers said they found Golsby DNA in Puffs of her car. Golsby’s attorney said the DNA was matched to a “unreliable” DNA-profile.
