MIAMI – After months of fighting for attention in the crowded Democratic presidential primary, the former Obama administration official Julián Castro, pulse, claimed in the Wake of Wednesday night’s debate, when he doubled down on uncompromising left-wing positions on immigration and abortion, and helped him from his competitors.

Still, the debate showed how far the party is moving to the left, the on hot-button topics. In a response to abortion, Castro said he believes in “reproductive justice” and emphasized his support for abortion rights for transgender people.
“Let us also not forget that someone in the trans community, a female trans is bad, means that you should not have the right to choose to exercise this right,” he said during the debate. “And I would absolutely have the right to an abortion concern.”

In an interview with journalists in the hotel, Castro refused to say three times if he supports any limits on late-term abortion – a topic that vulnerable Democrats across the country.
Every time asked, Castro replied: “I think a woman should decide to.”
