Judge refuses the Twin Cities archdiocese bankruptcy plan

ST. PAUL, Minn. – A lawyer for victims of clergy sexual abuse, says a judge has denied both compensation plans in the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis’ bankruptcy case.

St. Paul attorney Jeff Anderson released a statement Thursday said a judge denied both the archdiocese’s reorganization plan and a competing plan filed by a creditors ‘ committee. He says that the judge ordered all parties back to mediation.

The archdiocese bankruptcy protection in 2015. A spokesman for the archdiocese not immediately respond to messages for comment.

In May, an overwhelming majority of the victims of clergy sexual abuse in the archdiocese voted for a plan submitted by the commission of creditors of the archdiocese plan.
