COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – A Colorado judge says a man who recognizes the killing of three people at a Planned Parenthood clinic continues to be mentally incompetent.
Tuesday is the hearing of the first review of Robert Sweet’s mental health since the Colorado Court of Appeals in January affirmed a lower court’s ruling that he can be medicated against his will.
It is not clear whether that treatment is started.
The Colorado Springs Gazette reports that Dear will stay at the Colorado Mental Health Institute Pueblo. He is in treatment because he was seen as incompetent in May 2016. Routine hearings are held to review the status.
The next review is May 21.
He is charged with 179 counts, including murder and attempted murder, as a result of the Nov. 27, 2015, shooting at the Colorado Springs clinic that also wounded nine.
