ABC uber successful reality dating series ‘The Bachelor’ has captivated millions of viewers over the franchise’s 22 seasons. Here is a look at what you may not know about ‘The Bachelor’ series.

Controversial “Bachelor” Juan Pablo Galavis joked Arie Luyendyk Jr. would have surpassed him as the most hated “Bachelor” contestant in history.

Galavis, 36, told “Entertainment Tonight” and he “felt bad” for Luyendyk and the criticism he has received after last week’s finale.

In a twist, Luyendyk presented participant Rebecca “Becca” Kufrin with the final rose and proposed to her. However, a few weeks later, Luyendyk had a change of heart and decided to put an end to the involvement with Kufrin to go with the runner-up Lauren Burnham. Kufrin was named next season’s “Bachelorette” and Luyendyk proposed to Burnham during the show “After the Final Rose” special.

Galavis was also controversial after he refused to propose to Nikki Ferrell, a final choice. He also allegedly told the runner-up Clare Crawley during the season finale, “I love f-ing you, but I do not know you.”

Galavis explained what Luyendyk have felt when he decided to change his decision.

“I remember my season and I see all the time that I spent with the girls. Of course, you spend like 40 hours with a girl in total,” Galavis told “Entertainment Tonight.” “So maybe he went with her and he was like, ‘Wow, is the other girl the one I want?’ You know, and that is what I think he did that.”

Galavis joked Luyendyk “threw me” as the most hated “Bachelor.”

Luyendyk told the People: “he made a big mistake” by initially choosing Kufrin, but it felt like an enormous weight [was] lifted off my shoulders” after his reconciliation with Burnham.
