Jon van Eerd writes and plays in the new musical, Charley
Jon van Eerd wrote a new comic musical. Producer Pretpakhuis brings Charley from november 2018 in the Dutch theatres.
The musical is based on the British comedy Charley’s Aunt by Brandon Thomas, which Of Which already had a successful stage adaptation made.
The farce, which in the late nineteenth century in London, a record established with nearly 1,500 performances, is about a man who dresses as the aunt of a friend – out of sheer distress of his family to the garden to lead.
In the previous stage adaptation played Of Which the costumed man and Pamela Teves as the real aunt, who halfway through the performance her arrival and for a lot of complications.
The British composer and conductor Michael Reed composes new music for Charley. Reed worked on more than twenty shows in the West End. He previously worked together with Of the Limelight during the musical Mother, I want to join the revue.
The world premiere of the musical, Charley’s in december 2018 in the Oude Luxor Theater in Rotterdam. Van Eerd plays again the main role. Who else will play a role in the show, is not yet known.
Van Eerd is next season still in the theaters to see with Harry & Eve, the tenth comedy around his hard character Harrie Vermeulen.
