Johan Card Price for Plien and Bianca
The Johan Card this year’s Prize is for Bianca Krijgsman and Plien van Bennekom for their roles in the death of Broadway (only Warrior) and Slippers (both).
It is an award for achievement in the field of theateramusement, such as triumph.
“If the stoethaspelende Karen Richards was Man of the surprise of the DeLaMar-music-theatre production In the ban of Broadway.”, according to the jury.
Together with Van Bennekom, who they’re also the duo Plien & Bianca forms, closed Man of the season with Alan Ayckbourns relatiekomedie Slippers.
“With their superb timing and grabbed the two times the laughter from the audience and reinforced their position at the top of the Dutch theateramusement.”
Namesake Johan Map (1897-1976) was his whole life long, in comedies, comic plays and musicals, from The Squinty in The Jantjes in the film from 1934 to Alfred Doolittle in My Fair Lady in the early sixties, in addition to Wim Sonneveld.
The winners received July 10, a statue of him, made by the artist Pieter de Monchy.
