Joaquin Phoenix still has a tough time with the death of his brother River Phoenix, he said in the 60 Minutes.

His brother, River Phoenix was an actor, and has played, among others, in the classic Stand By Me (1986). He passed away in 1993 at the age of 23 from an overdose of heroin and cocaine on the sidewalk, next to a night club in Hollywood.

He has had a huge impact on the acting career of Joaquin Phoenix, and then left him to get acquainted with the film. “I think that in pretty much every movie I make, there is a line to be found is by River, and that we all have the presence and guidance continue to be felt in our lives.”
