Former Secretary of defense James Mattis poked fun at himself, and President of the Trump at the 74th annual Alfred E. Smith Memorial Foundation Dinner ” in New York City on Thursday evening, a day after the President called Mattis “the world’s most overrated general.”
Mattis, who resigned last December after a collision with a trump to the President, the Syria policy, said he was honored to be overrated by the “” remark, because Trump “as Meryl Streep is a overrated actress.”
“So I think I’m joked the Meryl Streep of the generals,” Mattis, “and to be honest, that sounds pretty good to me.”
