The uk authorities have confirmed that the police and helicopters escorted two of Jet2’s flights at the landing last night, at the Leeds Bradford international Airport, after the mysterious, as lasers aimed at the aircraft.

From 11:30 a.m. on Tuesdays and 12:48 p.m. on Wednesday, two of Jet2 pilots have been spotted on the lasers seems to be on their aircraft, the BBC reports.

Flights LS274, and LS250 were preparing to go down at the Yeadon air hub, as the ominous light appeared, which, according to the Examiner of one’s Life.

“We will be able to confirm to you that the two inbound aircraft reported a laser on the approach to Leeds / Bradford Airport last night. The appropriate security procedures were immediately activated, resulting in Air Traffic Control, the implementation of a police helicopter to escort the incoming flights,” a spokesperson from the Leeds, Bradford said.

“We will be able to confirm to you that the airport is fully open and receiving flights. We have been liaising with West Yorkshire Police about the incident, and will continue to monitor the situation closely,” she adds.

Officials with Jet2 and were not immediately available for comment.

In the end of 2018 at least 775 incidents of lasers targeting aircraft were reported, according to the BBC, by the Civil Aviation Authority (fsa). Offenders could face an unlimited fine for the offence and may be convicted and sentenced for a period not exceeding five years.

On the American coasts, as well as the Federal Aviation Administration wrote in April, in a press release that the “laser attacks on planes continue to pose a serious threat to the safety and health at work” in spite of the waning of the reported incidents in the last couple of years.
