For years, Jessie J’s bodyguard, Dave, stood at her side watching over her with concerts, movies and night walks. On Sunday, the British singer announced the devastating death of the security guard they are considered to be “family”.
In a long post on Instagram, Jessie J described in the special moments the couple shared together over the past four years, including impromptu training outside of her tour bus, sms, and during the breaks on “The Voice” and holding her hand when she was nervous on an international flight.
“The way we laughed. I come back to. We had so much fun Dave,” the 30-year-old star wrote.

Jessie J named Dave her “rock” and a “gentle giant” with a big heart.
“Your love for your dogs. Your love for tattoos. Your love for travel. Your gentleness. Your voice. The way you stuck by me when everyone left. It was me and you in Aus,” Jessie J continued, explaining that she chose the books of the tribute in the public, so that everyone could remember of the incredible man Dave was.
At this time it is unclear as to how Dave, who is also a father died, but it seems to be sudden — as Jessie J pointed to the two arranged to meet for hot chocolate next week.
“I miss you. I see you on the other side one day. Rest easy Dave / give your Dad a hug from me,” Jessie J added.

The singer’s emotional post was accompanied by a mixture of 10 photo’s and video’s of Dave. Some candid shots showed Dave the protection of Jessie J as she greets fans, while others were selfies taken at different locations.
“You were not only my safety, we ARE family … you and Me,” Jessie J said.
Hours later, Jessie J uploaded a video of Dave entering a small plane. In the video, she laughed as the muscular bodyguard tried to squeeze through the door of a small airplane.
