“Love you, Jess, but why throw a child with a cast? Even in the water,” one person commented.

Another called the ” flip “is the most ridiculous thing to do as a parent.”

Fans of Simpson hit back at negative commenters.

“Thank you both for being real parents. Children are strong and energetic, this was simply innocent and fun!!! All you haters back off and find something else to do!!” a wrote.

“Good for letting your son still enjoy the summer. We all parent differently and you don’t have to listen to what someone else says. He is your son, and not theirs. They will get over it. Must be a slow news day for these people to care what you do with your son,” another wrote in defense of Simpson.

The video has garnered more than 500,000 views as of the beginning of the Wednesday.
