Jelle Brandt Corstius want with the new program “something very different than Russia’
Journalist Jelle Brandt Corstius, which in the autumn will be shown in the VPRO-program Robo Sapiens on artificial intelligence, is something very different than a program about Russia.
“You don’t need all the time to do the same,” says the journalist and presenter during the NPO najaarpresentatie to NU.nl. “I really want a time something else than Russia. That know I well, that omaatjes, allowing you to always be entertaining television,” said Corstius, that for the VPRO multiple reportageprogramma’s about Russia.
In Robo Sapiens examines the journalist what was going on in the field of artificial intelligence. It doubted, sometimes he or some of the developments do not go too far.
“For example, there are drones who make decisions or they bomb. So has the Israeli army drones flying around that, if they are a radar unit, see to it to dive and explode,” says Corstius. “So there is no consultation with a person and that I find personally scary. And that is just the tip of the iceberg, what all armies happens we do not know,” said the journalist.
Corstius presents the program with a robot and that provides sometimes unexpected moments. “That robot gave, for example, occasionally the Hitlergroet, his arm went in the middle of an interview, then suddenly up,” laughs the producer. “He fell suddenly to when he was during the filming of a pedestrian crossing, cross over and there is just a bus arrived. Yes, we had a lot of fun with that thing,” said Corstius.
Robo sapiens is from Sunday, 29 October NPO2.
