Jan Smit had doubts initially about a career in the Netherlands
John Smith doubted around his seventeenth of his career in the Netherlands. “In Germany, as a tierelier, I stood there every evening for sixty – and zeventigplussers to play. But in the Netherlands, scored not what I did.”
That he admitted Monday morning in the show of Giel Beelen on 3FM. Smit was a guest because of his twentieth anniversary as an artist.
The singer broke on his tenth with the song I sing this song for you only. Around seventeen, he started his Dutch career in doubt. “This Is it, I asked myself then,” he says. “I need this now for the rest of my life?”
Further confirmed to Smith what he had said, that he was at forty, wants to stop singing. “I am thirty years of singing, I don’t think it is even better,” said the singer.
“I want to than other things do, other things are going to develop: produce, or write one themselves.”
