James Woods has been dropped by his talent agent, and received the announcement in an e-mail sent during the Fourth of July holiday.

The Oscar-nominated actor shared a screenshot of the e-mail with the subject “Well…” on his personal Twitter account.

The talent agent, Ken Kaplan, said that he would come to the decision to no longer represent the outspoken conservative star because he is a “patriotic feeling.”

“It is the 4th of July and I feel patriotic,” Kaplan wrote. “I don’t want to represent you more. I mean, I can go on a rant but you know what I would say.”

Forests, in return, tweeted his response to Kaplan, which he described as a “political liberal.”

My response: “Dear Ken, I don’t. I was thinking if you’re feeling patriotic, you would appreciate the free speech and the right to think as an individual. Anyway, I want to thank you for all your hard work and dedication on my account. Good.” https://t.co/nEe8OMaWb2

“Dear Ken, I don’t. I was thinking if you’re feeling patriotic, you would appreciate the free speech and the right to think as an individual,” Forest replied.

“Be that as it may, I want to thank you for all your hard work and dedication on my account. Good.”

While Kaplan does not explicitly say in the e-mail that his decision to sever ties was made about Woods’ personal politics, it comes after the 71-year-old actor revealed in October last year that he’s retiring because he is “the black list” of Hollywood due to his conservative views.

“While #Liberals scream about the 50 is the black list, my #Th actor friends are afraid of losing their ability to provide for their families,” he once tweeted.

The “Casino” star also revealed he was a Democrat for years until President Bill Clinton’s impeachment, which he described said, ” Every single #Democrat, without exception, stood behind a convicted perjurer. That was the end.”

In addition to the two Academy Award-nominations in the Woods has received three Emmy Awards during his 30-year-plus film career. The veteran actor starred in the Showtime series “Ray Donovan” and “Family Guy” (as himself), and recently voiced the role of Lex Luthor in the animated TV show “Justice League Action.”
