The former FBI-Director James Comey on Monday to the long list of politicians and public figures joined to condemn, the President of Trump’s remarks in his press conference with Russian President Vladimir Putin, tweeted that the President “refused, return to his own country.”

At the joint press conference in Helsinki, Finland, Trump said that while he has great confidence in the U.S. intelligence community, which has clearly said that Russia interfered — he did not “see no reason why” Putin or his country to a fault.

The comments came after hours of private talks with Putin, attracted cross-party criticism, what does the law condemn you as “scandalous”, “shameful” and, according to the former speaker of the house of representatives Newt Gingrich, “the serious mistake of his presidency.”

Director of National Intelligence, Dan Coats, after the press conference, released a statement, saying the U.S. intelligence community “were clear in our assessments of the Russian interference in the election of 2016-and their constant, ever-present efforts to undermine our democracy.”
