Jaden Smith receives environmental award for efforts against plastic pollution
The 18-year-old son of Will Smith, Jaden Smith, is rewarded for his efforts for the environment. He will be next month during the annual event of the Environmental Media Association (EMA) the Male EMA Futures Award for the work he delivers to pollution by plastic bottles.
“After I got the amount of pollution in the ocean, and the effect it has on the animals, I had to do something,” says Smith, about his commitment to the environment, reports E! News.
The organization sees in Smith a role model. “We consider it an honor to have these inspiring young voice of the environment and sustainability to be able to share with the world”, said president of EMA Debbie Levin.
It is the 26th time that the award is presented. The organisation wants to do with the price milieupioniers reward effort and leadership to create awareness around natuurzaken. The presentation will take place on October 22 in Los Angeles.
