Italy does talk show after accusations of racism and sexism
The Italian staatsomroep RAI announced Monday, the popular talk show Parliamone Sabato to go to delete it, because this racist and sexist stereotypes of Eastern European women would preach.
Complaints poured in after the program discussed why Italian men to Eastern European women to choose. It was said that the benefits of a East-European women would be that they are “always sexy and no slobberige pajamas”, “their husband is the decision-making” and that they “cheating forgive”.
The program was especially much criticism of politicians. “It is unacceptable that women in television are portrayed as pets that must be valued for their patience, obedience, and service,” said speaker of Laura Boldrini.
The director of RAI, Antonio Dall’orto suggested that the zaterdagshow with the broadcast “clearly went” against the values of the broadcaster. Manager Andrea Fabiano of the channel RAI 1, in which the talk show was broadcast, offered his “sincere apologies for what happened”.
Thousands of women from Russia, Ukraine, Poland, Romania and other Eastern European countries over the past twenty years to Italy migrated. A large number of them is married with an Italian man.
