Italy beat defending champion Argentina in Davis Cup
Italy has set Monday as the last placed in that country for the quarter-finals of the Davis Cup. The country knocked defending champions Argentina, thanks to a victory of Fabio Fognini on Guido Pella.
Italy, the confrontation was started with two victories in the singles matches, after which the Argentines the doubles to drew. Sunday brought Carlos Berlocq voltage full back Paolo Lorenzi to beat.
In the fifth and decisive party seemed to Pella on the way to the victory. The Argentinian stood with 2-0 in sets, but Fognini grabbed three sets in a row and gave his country a place in the last eight: 2-6, 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 and 6-2.
The Argentines had in Buenos Aires to do without their key asset Juan Martin del Potro. He takes a longer time and starts sometime this month of his season. He struck the previous month, the Australian Open.
Italy meets in the quarter finals, Belgium, Germany aside, and shoved. Also, the United States, Australia, France, Spain, Great Britain and Serbia have qualified for the next round.
The victory of Great Britain in Canada came into being after the disqualification of Denis Shapovalov, who accidentally a ball at the umpire beat. He was awarded a penalty.
The quarter-finals in the Davis Cup are from 7 to 9 april on the program.
