Israel sends Arabischtalige film for Oscar
Israel sends for the first time a whole in the Arabic-spoken film as a submission for the American film awards Academy Awards, or Oscars.
Sand Storm, the film of Elite Zexer is about a family drama and women in a community of bedouins in southern Israel. The newspaper Haaretz reported Saturday that the film of the Jewish Israeli Zexer has just been awarded the Israeli film awards.
The film was last Thursday, six Ophir Awards. This ‘Israeli Oscars’ are, since 1990, awarded annually in the Tel Aviv Performing Arts Center. Sand Storm is coming Wednesday in the USA. The filmjury for the Oscars in Los Angeles has already ten times an Israeli film nominated for the award for foreign films, but that never materialized.
