TEHRAN, Iran – Iran wants to explore the parts of the rocket of the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, shown last week as “undeniable” evidence that Tehran is arming Yemen Shiite rebels.
Minister of defence Gen. Amir Hatami, says Iran will lodge a complaint with the U. N. and demand that “the parts of the rocket are to be delivered to Iran” for research.
He told the semi-official Tasnim news agency on Monday that the US claims that do not “, answered at a distance.”
U. N. Ambassador Nikki Haley on Thursday showed off the parts of the rocket to cameras at a military base near Washington. They said the projectile was supplied by Iran and launched by Yemen’s Houthis on the airport in the Saudi capital Riyadh.
Iran dismissed as a “fake and fabricated” claim. Tehran denies the involvement of Yemen rebels in war with Saudi Arabia.
