Iran allows arrested British academic after eight months of free

A British-Iranian academic, who by Iran, was detained on suspicion of espionage, after about eight months released.

In april, it was announced that Abbas Edalat in Iran was arrested for “security reasons”. Local media reports that the academic was part of “a infiltratienetwerk with ties to Britain”.

By Edalat founded organization CASMII (campaign against sanctions and military intervention in Iran) stated that “misinformation and misunderstandings to his arrest had been”.

Edalat is professor of computer science at the Imperial College in London. He is now in Great Britain.
