(Reuters) – Intel Corp on Monday launched a new processor, which is a second-generation of Xeon processor, for the data centers, and a 10nm chip and a wireless 5G base stations.
The question of the use of cloud computing, companies will have a boost in the sales of server chips, which will lead to a strong performance by Intel and its rival AMD Corporation.
Intel’s Xeon chips, and will have a dominant position in the market for server chips, however, AMD has been gaining ground ever since its re-entry into the business three years ago with arch-rival EPYC processors, which earned positive reviews on here
The new Xeon chips to give you a better per-dollar performance than the previous generation, while for the 10nm chip, P5900, it will help it become one of the leading silicon provider to the base stations by 2021, a year earlier than we expected, Intel has said.
In the last month, the chipmaker said it would release the nine-10nm products will be in 2020, and the launch of the 7nm product in the next year. AMD has already launched a number of chips, which are based on the smaller of 7nm of the architecture.
