Inmate convicted in the fatal stabbing in West Virginia jail

CLARKSBURG, W. Va. – A federal inmate in West Virginia was sentenced to life in prison in the fatal stabbing of another prisoner.

Thirty-six-year-old Kevin Marquette Bellinger was sentenced Monday in federal court in Clarksburg.

Prosecutors say Bellinger and another prisoner used homemade knives to cross 28-year-old Jesse Harris in October of 2007 at the AMERICAN Prison in hazelton.

Bellinger has previously been convicted in the case and was sentenced to life in prison in 2014. The conviction was quashed on appeal in June 2016.
