Iniesta in doubt about contract extension at FC Barcelona
Andres Iniesta’m still not sure if he his contract with FC Barcelona are ready to renew. The current commitment of the 33-year-old midfielder runs in mid-2018.
“I’m not saying that I’m not going to renew, but I’m going to have a good think about it,” said Iniesta Monday night against the Spanish radio station Onda Cero.
The 117-fold international, which in 2002 debuuteerde in the main body of Barcelona, stressed that it is not a financial issue. “It’s going to be other factors, such as my personal feeling, and the new people who come here. The decision must be for you all the best.”
If Iniesta Barcelona actually leave then he will go to a club outside of Spain. “I want to not against Barcelona,” said Iniesta, who is fit enough to feel a few more years to go. “If I don’t have serious injuries rally then that should work.”
Because the contract of Iniesta yet another season goes through, he will be next season anyway, still playing under the new coach Ernesto Valverde, whose coming Monday, officially was announced by the club.
Iniesta is aware that the next year to be better under the trainer which happens to Athletic Bilbao, after the last season of Luis Enrique, only the Copa del Rey was won. “We can’t say that we have a good season have turned, certainly not at such a demanding club.”
Moreover, Iniesta is not the only mainstay of Barcelona, of whom the contract in 2018 expires. Similarly, the commitment of Lionel Messi, is still only one year, although the club has repeatedly stated that the Argentine will certainly extend.
