Infants under stabbing victims in New York City, the day care, police say; suspect in custody

Multiple people were stabbed at a daycare in New York City.


A suspect was in custody after at least five people, including three children, were cut on a night in New York City day care facility early Friday, police said.

The wounded were found in the Queens house around 3:30 a.m., according to NBC New York. The injuries were not considered life-threatening, police said.

The injured person, infants included, two boys and a girl, police said. Another man and a woman injured. Their identity and age is not immediately released. The man, who was injured, had a child at the daycare and the wife was a daycare worker, according to NBC New York.

The suspect, identified as a 52-year-old woman was found in the cellar of the house, self-inflicted cuts on the wrist, to the station.

She was reportedly being treated in a hospital for a non-life-threatening wound. Her relationship with the children was not immediately clear.

Other children in the kindergarten were not injured, authorities said.
