The Indian minister of Tourism and Indian culture Mahesh Sharma is a scapegoat after he foreign toeristes had not a dress to wear in his country.
Mahesh Sharma had on Sunday announced that tourists upon arrival at the airport with a shopping list would get advice on their stay in India. It could be that female tourists are not advised for evening only to go out in smaller villages, as well as a dress to wear.
The minister was immediately buried under criticism and had to be message control. He had the to say that only talked about religious sites such as temples. “I would women never say what they may and may not wear.”
Mahesh Sharma is a member of the nationalist hindoepartij Bharatiya Janata (BJP) of prime minister Narendra Modi. Controversial statements made him a butt of ridicule. He said last year that a night out for girls is not part of the Indian culture. (Belga)
