In Spain arrested a Turkish-German writer again on free feet
The German writer Dogan Akhanli, who Saturday during his holiday in Spain is arrested, the jail leave. He comes under conditions free. According to his counsel, he must be in the capital Madrid stay.
The writer, who in Turkey is born, according to lawyer Ilias Uyar arrested at the request of the government-Erdogan. Akhanli has in his books the attention paid to the persecution of the Armenians in Turkey. Of which he is accused, is unclear.
Turkey now has forty days to file a request for extradition in Spain. Then in Spain an assessment.
The German minister of Foreign Affairs Sigmar Gabriel has Saturday his Spanish colleague called for extradition to occur. The arrest has to the great indignation led in Germany.
The lawyer said earlier that the Spanish police a spoednotitie of Interpol arrived. That was the reason why the author, born in 1957, on his holiday accommodation in Granada to arrest.
Akhanli was from 1985 to 1987 in a military prison in Istanbul. He was as a member of the communist party and arrested after a coup in 1984.
The writer fled in 1991 from Turkey and currently lives in Cologne. He only has the German nationality.
