Democrats traditionally blue as their colour, while the Republicans are red. However, some commentators pointed out that red has not shied away from the traditional color of socialism — a label Ocasio-Cortez.

Ocasio-Cortez said earlier in the day, the ideas that “are at once more radical,” now part of “mainstream entertainment.” She has touted ideas such as single-payer health care and abolition of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
