A Florida woman who supposedly couldn’t let her adult son have the last word in a discussion about her mobile phone was arrested Saturday, allegedly after the firing of a gun at him while he rode away on a bicycle.
Priscilla Ann Ethridge, 66, was indicted for aggravated assault with a firearm and held in the Bay Jail on $ 2,500 bail, the Panama City News Herald reported.
Ethridge and her 46-year-old son, who lived together, were in the middle of an argument when he suddenly drove away from the Panama City Beach home on his bike, according to the police.

The mother picked up a .22-caliber gun before the door behind him and says: “I’ll be damned if I let him have the last word,” her cousin told Bay County Sheriff’s Office deputies. After getting in her car and catching up to him, she’d fired a shot, police said.
Ethridge claimed her son stole her mobile phone and would not give it back, and asks her to chase him down. When she caught up to the bike, he grabbed the car door before she fired the shot to “scare” him, the report said.
Ethridge’s son told deputies a different story: that he drove away from his mother when she rode beside him, screamed she was going to shoot him and fired the revolver. The bullet did not strike anyone, and the son was unharmed.
The researchers names Ethridge’s gun, that spent had a shell in his room. Her mobile phone was later found in her house.
