nearvideo James Loyal to Comey IG report: It is important to follow the rules, he is aware of the

Former DOJ Prosecutor James Trusty on what former FBI Director, James Comey placed.

The findings, published by the Department of justice inspector General on Thursday, new questions about the critical may 2017 timeline in the run-up to the appointment of Special Counsel Robert Mueller and former FBI Director, James Comey’s testimony before the Senate Intelligence Committee is, therefore,.

Comey testified that she was a trump is may 12, 2017, tweet about possible White House tapes, which led him to Wake up “in the middle of the night” days later, convinced that he needed to leak document the contents of his confidential memos of his conversations with trump. Such a leak, Comey reasons, would be created the result of an investigation, which would make visible all of the tapes by the President.

But the 83-page report released on Thursday by the Department of Justice general inspector revealed that on the afternoon of the 14th. May 2017 — the Sunday before that alleged late-night episode occurred — Comey sent four memos to one of his lawyers, Patrick Fitzgerald, “with the instruction to release the E-Mail and a PDF attachment with [lawyer David] Kelley and [Columbia Law School professor Daniel] Richman.”

There were no indications that Comey said Richman, to lick his long-time friend and Advisor, the documents of the time. Fitzgerald submitted the documents Kelley at 7:35 PM on may 17, and Richman on 17. May, 10:13 PM

COMEY VIOLATED FBI GUIDELINES, SNAPPY, IG REPORT FINDS

But on the morning of may 16, Comey separately a digital photo of one of his memos, specifically designed to Richman, with explicit instructions to share the substance of the memo with a New York Times reporter will be sent.

On may 16, 2017, based on a leak from Richman in Comey, the direction, the The New York Times documented in a story on the memos, and with the headling “Comey Memo Says that Trump Asked Him to the end of the Flynn investigation.”

Richman is also the source of a may 11 New York Times article described that Comey had requested private meetings with “associates”, in which Comey Trump said, a loyalty promise from Comey. Article Trump prompted to tweet, “James Comey better hope that there are no ‘tapes’ of our conversations, before he begins leaking to the press!”

Separated from the IG’s report probed Comey’s honesty in his congressional testimony, when Maine Republican Sen. Susan Collins asked him, “Did you show copies of your memos to people outside of the Department of Justice.”

“Yes,” Comey said.

“And who did you copied map?” Collins noted.

“I asked — the President tweeted on Friday, after I was thrown out, that I better hope it’s not the tapes. I woke up in the middle of the night in the night of Monday, because it is dawn, said the morning to me in the beginning that it might be a confirmation for our interview,” Comey.

“It’s a Band could be,” Comey. “My judgment was, to get I need that in the public square. I asked to share a friend of mine, the contents of the memo with a reporter. Had it not even for a variety of reasons. I asked him, because I thought that may have prompted the appointment of a special counsel. I asked a close friend to do it.”

Comey later, the IG said that he had provided the notes to Richman, but was criticized for not to mention that he also, the documents to his lawyers.

In the discussions with the IG, Comey blame Collins for not asking follow-up questions,” and stated that he felt he “was trying to answer the question posed was, and not to reveal confidential communications with my attorneys.” Comey drew a distinction between conversations with his lawyer for legal advice and conversations with Richman for the purposes of dissemination of information.

Other obvious problems with Comey’s honesty were uncovered in the IG report. For example, the report made it clear that even as Comey, assured Trump that he examined, personally, the former FBI Director and his top people went to the deputies to great lengths to confront Trump in a Jan. 6, 2017, to meet at the Trump Tower with the salacious allegations in the dossier, written by a British ex-spy Christopher Steele.

“Comey-set is a clear example of the more than 35,000 current FBI employees—and many thousands of other former FBI employees. …”

CIA Director John Brennan, the Director of National Intelligence (DNI) James Clapper and the National Security Agency (NSA Director Mike Rogers were also meeting in attendance at the Trump Tower. But the group “agreed that the briefing” had to be on the dossier of claims”, to one-to-one, so that Comey could have the ‘kinky’ information in the most discreet and least embarrassing way.”

The goal, according to FBI officials, was to see if Trump would “‘statements or information of value for the upcoming Russia-interference-investigation, “known as the” Crossfire Hurricane.'”

After Comey revealed to Trump the dossier claims that he was watching the President’s reactions and quickly documented for identification purposes, the IG told.

“Comey said he had a safe FBI-laptop is waiting for him in his FBI vehicle is specified, and when he was in the vehicle, handed over the laptop and began typing, as the vehicle is moving,” the IG report. The area of the IG report was first identified by The Washington Examiner Byron York.

‘THOROUGHLY EMBARRASSED’: TRUMP, TOP REPUBLICANS RIP COMEY

To discuss Comey later at the top of the New York FBI field office to the matter, in a secure video conference with the other members of Crossfire Hurricane-a team, according to the report.

News that Trump was briefed on the allegations, the top FBI brass was later leaked to CNN, and was the impetus for the network, a report on the dossier-existence.

“We have a CNN exclusive for you now,” anchor Jake Tapper said Jan. 10, 2017. “CNN has learned that the nation’s top intelligence officers provided information to President-elect, Donald Trump, and President Barack Obama in the last week about the demands of the Russian efforts to compromise, the President-elect,” to quote “a former British intelligence operative, whose previous work of US intelligence officials consider to be credible to be.”

Not to mention CNN that Steele was promoted by the Hillary Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee (DNC), and it did not reveal which of the participants had played in the meeting, the news about the dossier briefing.

The IG is separately working on a report in a wider potential intelligence community surveillance is misused.

Meanwhile, Republicans Hammer Comey lined up on the basis of the IG’s findings.

“Perhaps never in the history of our country, someone has embarrassed more thoroughly and excoriated as James Comey in the just released Inspector General report. He should be ashamed of themselves!” Trump tweeted.

“By leaking its confidential communication with the President in an attempt to save face, the thought in the Wake of his dismissal, Mr Comey, he was told about the rules of the DOJ,” Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, the ranking member of the House Committee on Oversight and Reform, in a statement. “His actions were shameful, and part of a broader effort within the Obama justice Department to undermine President Trump.”

The IG report looked into the memos, Comey wrote between January 2017 and April 2017, on the discussions with the trump, that Comey found annoying or unusual. A dinner, in which Comey said that Trump asked him to pledge his loyalty to him and a private Oval Office meeting weeks later, on the Comey says the President asked him to drop an FBI investigation into Flynn belong to.

The justice Ministry official watchdog concluded that the memos, Comey were held, in fact, “official FBI records,” and Comey set is said to be a “dangerous example” of his actions.

Former acting attorney General Matt Whitaker, says James Comey created a culture of leaking at the FBI

The former FBI Director, James Comey placed his own interests before the country and not with the DOJ Directive, created a chain of events, the appointment of the special counsel, says the former acting Attorney General Matt Whitaker.

The IG report identifies a number of violations, including that he broke the FBI’s guidelines, and the office of the employment agreement, ” by which is one of the unclassified memos, the official FBI information, including sensitive investigative information to his friend with instructions for the friend to share, the contents of the memo with a reporter.”

Further, noted in the IG, that Comey held, copies of the four memos (of a total of seven he designed) in a private safe at home, not to inform after his removal as a member-and thus “violated FBI guidelines and his FBI employment contract, the FBI, which he had kept them.”

The IG Comey said again against the rules “, by copies … of the four memos, which he had kept in his home to his three private lawyers, without FBI authorization” and the FBI warn once, he met one of the memos contained in the sections later, as classified at the confidential level.

“Non-protection of sensitive information during his FBI employment, and to create the public pressure for an official action, Comey set a dangerous example for the more than 35,000 current FBI employees—and many thousands of other former FBI employees, in a similar way, access to or knowledge of non-public information,” the report stated.

The IG added: “Were current or former FBI employees will follow the former Director’ s example, and the disclosure of the sensitive information in the service of their own strongly held conviction that the FBI would not be able to dispatch its enforcement duties properly.”

But for Comey, who maintains the image of a by the book, and impeccable leader since its termination in the year 2017, the check, shone a bright light on his decisions in the final, harried weeks of his tenure at the helm of the nation’s top law enforcement Agency.

For his part, Comey focused on a section that said that he did not leak classified information directly to the media — and asked his critics to tell him “sorry, we lied about you.”
