Hrafnhildur Arnardóttir – perfect, those Icelandic names – is better known to the public as a Shoplifter, her alter ego in the art world. Currently resides in new York, where she also her name Shoplifter closet. By a chance encounter with a stranger during her first months in New York. He tried her name, Hrafnhildur, as good and as evil as possible to speak. That resulted in a ‘Nice to meet you, Ss.hop…l.l..l.i.ft..there?’ Not quite, but still pretty tried. & Other Stories followed her and her work for quite some time and dreamed to have something to do with the visual art of Shoplifter. That dream they saw fulfilled. “I wanted a colorful, playful, funny, and super comfortable collection. Surface and texture are the starting point, in combination with simple shapes that can easily be alternated and combined in function of your state of mind. All pieces from this collection can be combined with everything in your wardrobe have hanging up and pimp your outfit when you’re in the mood for a nice day to fall”, says Hrafnhildur Arnardóttir.
