Hundreds of disorderly youth descend on shopping centre; 5 charged

CHERRY HILL, N. J. – At least 700 young animals created a disturbance in a New Jersey mall, frightening shoppers on the day after Christmas.

Witnesses say that the youth slammed doors and went the wrong way on the escalator. They say that a few fights broke out in the crowd.

The police have charged five juveniles with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and other offenses.

The authorities say that the youth gathered in the Cherry Hill Mall on Tuesday night. Cherry Hill police arrived around 7:30 p.m. and spread to the disorderly crowd.

Four of the minors to be charged from the nearby Camden; one is from Cherry Hill.

The mall in southern New Jersey is a short drive from Philadelphia.
