Hulk Hogan reinstated in the WWE Hall of Fame, 3 years after the sex tape

World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) will be restored legendary wrestler Hulk Hogan Hall of Fame, three years after kicking him out as a sex tape emerged of him making racist comments.

The company made the announcement on Sunday, says Hogan, and earned a second chance.

“This second chance to follow Hogan’s numerous public apologies and volunteering to work with young people, where he helps them to learn from his mistake,” the organization wrote.

Hogan, 64, celebrated the announcement on Twitter saying: “I have prayed for this day, and I finally feel that I’m home again. Only the Love 4 the #WWEUNIVERSE brother.”

Hogan’s daughter, Brooke Hogan, also tweeted to celebrate the announcement.

“So proud of the true transformation, my father has made spiritually and as a human being. None of us is perfect, but we can unlearn old things and learn new ways. Everyone evolution is unique to them and the Gods of timing. Thank you to the fans for the endless love. Round 2 here we come,” she wrote.

Hogan, whose real name is Terry Bollea, apologized in 2015, for the use of “offensive language” in a conversation much earlier. On the recording, he was caught talking about his daughter to sleep with a black man and uses the “N” word.

“It was unacceptable for me to have used that offensive language; there is no excuse for it; and I apologize for the fact that it is done,” Hogan said at the time.

WWE removed all references of Hogan of its website as a result of the scandal and terminated his contract in 2015, BBC reported.

The comments came to light in a joint report of RadarOnline.com and The National Enquirer, said that Hogan had used racist comments in a conversation caught on a sex video that was the subject of a violation of privacy lawsuit.

Hulk Hogan’s contracted was terminated by the WWE in 2015 after the racist comments on the sex tape.

In 2016, a Florida jury $140 million to Hogan in a privacy case revolves around the sex tape, which was posted on Gawker.com. The site posted a video of Hogan having sex with a friend of the woman, and asserts that the images of the newsworthy and protected by the First Amendment.

Silicon Valley billionaire Peter Thiel bankrolled Hogan’s lawsuit against Gawker, the concern about the power of the rich against the media. Only after Hogan won the jury ruled Thiel role come to light.

Gawker settled with Hulk Hogan for $31 million, the end of a long struggle that led to the media company to bankruptcy, the closure of Gawker.com and the sale of the Gawker sites other Spanish-language broadcaster Univision.

Hogan is one of the most recognizable stars of the WWE. He was the main draw for the first WrestleMania in 1985 and was faced with other legendary wrestlers including Andre the Giant, Randy Savage and The Rock. He won six WWE championships and was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2005 by Sylvester Stallone.

Hogan was also a reality tv star outside of the wrestling world after his hit VH1 reality series “Hogan Knows Best” followed by the wrestler and his family.
