Huawei shows new mid-range smartphone Nova

Huawei has the Nova presented a new mid-range smartphone with 5-inch screen and full aluminum body.

The Nova has a Snapdragon 625 the same processor as other midrange phones such as the Xperia X. The 5-inch screen has a full HD resolution.

The housing of the device is rounded at the back and has like the P9 about a glossy white or black bar at the top of the back of the device where the camera and flash are processed. With this ‘elegant appearance’, such as the manufacturer calls it, seems Huawei to focus on young women.

The new device from Huawei features 3 GB ram, 32 GB of storage memory, a finger print scanner on the back and a 12 megapixel camera on the back of the unit. The battery is according to the company two days with normal use, or five hours Pokémon Go-playing time, says the manufacturer.

In addition to the Nova brings the Chinese smartphonemerk also a Plus-variant, which is not available in the Netherlands. The larger smartphone also features a slightly larger battery.

The Nova will be 399 euros in costs from October and available in Europe.


Huawei showed in addition to the new Nova line also the Mediapad Mp3, an 8.4 inch tablet with a screen resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels, equivalent to 359 pixels per inch.

The M3 has a beeldschermverhouding of 16:10, and is for a tablet rather elongated. The device also comprises a 5.100 mAh battery. The tablet runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow, covered with the EMUI software of Huawei.

The MediaPad M3 is from 349 euro available, with 4GB of ram and 32 GB of storage.
