Your diet is not only important for your overall health, but your hair’s health as well. It may be difficult to change your whole diet overnight if you’re a poor eater, but you can at least take a few steps in the right direction. For starters, try to eat a little bit of everything. If this is the issue, try to cut back on your alcohol and tobacco intake. Also, try exercising–especially if you are stressed out. Lack of exercise and too much stress will result in lackluster hair and allow for easy breakage and a slower rate of growth. Exercising will also help you to sleep well, which is also essential for healthier, faster growing hair.
One of the most important steps in making your hair healthier is to stop washing it every day. That doesn’t mean that you can’t shower on a daily basis, just try to avoid washing your hair every day. Each time you wash your hair, you are stripping your locks of the natural oils produced by your scalp. Something else you may want to give a shot is massaging your scalp. Whether it’s randomly throughout the day or when you wash your hair, massaging your scalp will help to stimulate growth.

Avoiding harsh treatment of your hair is also essential in helping your hair to grow faster. Using harsh chemicals on your hair will only make your hair more unhealthy. If you are used to straightening, blow drying, curling, or using any kind of heat on your hair and want your hair to grow faster, you’re going to have to cut back on that. Heat is damaging to your hair and will only make it grow at a slower rate and break much easier. There are chemicals that are bad for your hair in almost all products out there. If you don’t want to put the money into the best shampoo and conditioner, you’ve still got a few options. Instead of using shampoo and conditioner from the store, you should try just using a more natural form of conditioner. One thing you can try is to massage a tablespoon of mayonnaise or olive oil into your hair and on your scalp at least once a week before you shampoo your hair. If you do this it will help to increase the strength of your hair.
