When it’s stormy outside (or extremely hot), exercising can be tough. You can’t do your usual outdoor running! Sure you can go to the gym, but what if you are snowed in? Even if you aren’t, you might want to change things up once in a while to keep your workout interesting.
The most obvious solution to exercising indoors is on a treadmill. Yes these can be expensive, but they are definitely worth it. Some of them even include web browsers, so you can get on Facebook during your workout, or pull up a great song on YouTube. These are great distractions during your workout!
You can also do other exercises, like jumping jacks, sit-ups, crunches, pushups, running in place, and pelvic gyrations (see #7). These exercises are totally perfect for indoors!
There are also the “timeless” workout videos. Richard Simmons tapes are always great for cheering you up while getting a good workout! These aren’t the only workout videos available. For example, if you are snowed in and can’t get to your Zumba class, there are many Zumba dance DVDs you can get online so that you can still get your workout in.
If you are able to get out of the house, but the weather is too rainy or too sunny and hot for your daily jog, you can always go to the mall and run laps. Just make sure you leave your wallet home!
