A 72-year-old Houston man will spend 20 years behind bars for driving over his ex-girlfriend four times, prosecutors said Monday.
Rogelio Alberto Guardado have pleaded guilty to aggravated assault of a family member, or serious bodily injury, The Houston Chronicle, quoting from the Harris County District Attorney Kim Ogg.
Rogelio Alberto Guardado allegedly ran over his ex-girlfriend with his truck four times before fleeing the scene.

Guardado went on to the 41-year-old woman on Sept. 11, 2016 and, after that, she saw him, she cut her car’s tires outside her apartment, and vice versa, said in a statement.
“He was trying to kill her, and that she’s not going to die,” Ogg said. “Domestic violence is the fuel for us to kill. We were lucky, she was strong enough to survive it.”
Ogg said the witnesses tried to intervene, and to stop Guardado. He reportedly fled the scene after running her for a fourth time.

The woman’s injuries put her in the hospital for the next few months, and left her dependent on a wheelchair for two years, ” Ogg said.

District judge Hazel Jones is convicted and sentenced Guardado to 20 years in prison as part of a plea agreement, KHOU reported. He will not be eligible for parole until he is at least half of the sentence, per state law.
