EXCLUSIVE: Republicans on the House Oversight Committee, citing their Democratic colleagues, to a series of trips to Mexico and the staff were touring the border detention centres, amid reports that at least one Democrat was involved in the “coaching” migrants there are, how to exploit U.S. immigration law.

In a letter to the Chairman Elijah Cummings, D-Md., get Fox News, ranking member Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, said there were at least two Committee staff to travel in Mexico in August — one of which required Border Patrol agents to a special escort back to the US

“Although the power to direct Committee staff to travel abroad on official Committee business, you have not explained why you are entitled to travel in Mexico or what not added you are trying to learn through these trips,” Jordan wrote, that the Republicans had been informed, the travel.

So Jordan went on to accuse Democrats of seeking, “the administration’s border security arrangements and demonize the men and women who protect our border.” He said GOP members of the trips are affected, “to continue misleading information about the administration on the border security efforts.”

Fox News has reached to Cummings’ office for a response to the Republicans’ claims.

Specifically, Jordan highlighted a report that was Rep. Veronica Escobar, D-Texas, said on a trip to Tijuana on Aug. 21. Escobar, who was on the Oversight Committee, is a vocal supporter of the left politics in the areas of illegal immigration.

Escobar responded by calling the article “fabricated” and “fueled by xenophobia and misinformation.”

In the letter, Jordan, asked Democrats to a series of questions, including what the purpose of the visit was to, the individuals and groups acting with inter, why Escobar’s office was invited, and what “coaching” was given to the immigration laws, if at all, to migrants.

The letter is the latest controversy over Democrats ” to travel to the border. Fox News first reported last month that the Department of Homeland Security had locked employees of the Committee from visiting the customs and border protection service facilities on the US-Mexican border during a trip, after staff were allegedly disruptive and refused to follow instructions.

Sources told Fox News that the DHS revoked access to CBP facilities for a visit, relying on employee behavior that “disturbed” with law enforcement — including the refusal to leave a site after the scheduled window, skip some of the tours and “to officers being rude”.

Democrats of the visit mixed has been proposed because of concerns about what employees learn from prisoners about the conditions on the ground. Cummings later wrote that his staff was blocked “by prior Personal checks serious problems with the treatment of children and adults were potentially in DHS custody.”
