House of Representatives U.S., resolution against state of emergency

The U.s. House of Representatives has as expected Tuesday night, with 245 votes to 182 votes against, a resolution was adopted that an end to the state of emergency in the US.

The American president Donald Trump announced on February 15 officially the state of emergency. By use of this instrument can Trump without the consent of the Congress, more than 7 billion euro to pave for the construction of the wall along the border with Mexico.

The Democrats, who have the majority in the House, not with Trump and agree on the funding of the wall. The disagreement led earlier to the longest “shutdown” in the history of the USA.

Now the resolution by the House is adopted, it will be voted on in the Senate, where the Republicans have the majority. The chance that the resolution is adopted, is the last day slightly larger. A number of Republicans have recently against the state of emergency pronounced.

The White House reported earlier that if the resolution in Congress is adopted, advisers to the president will advise his veto power to use. The Congress can then try this veto to reject, but here in both the House and the Senate a two-thirds majority needed for that.
