House of commons, U.S. Trump budget for defence and limes wall
The U.s. House of Representatives last Friday agreed to increase the defence budget to 2018, with 68 billion dollars (58,3 billion euro). The legislation also made funds available for the start of the construction of the by president Donald Trump promised Mexican limes wall.
The bill is about the budgets for the departments of Defense, Energy and veterans affairs, the legislative branch and geniekorps of the army and goes in total to 788 billion doll for the fiscal year 2018. In the proposal, the defense budget for 2018 with 68.1 billion increase to 658,1 billion dollars.
In addition, it is 1.6 billion dollars was made available for the construction of a wall between the United States and Mexico. This was one of the central election promises in the campaign of Trump in 2016.
The Republican Senaatsvoorzitter Mitch McConnell estimated in January that the wall finally between 12 and 15 billion (10-13 billion euros) will cost.
