Rep. Kevin McCarthy responds to DOJ’s decision to fire McCabe

House majority Leader Kevin McCarthy and house majority whip Steve Scalise, the house Republicans are calling for a special second Council in the investigation of the Department of Justice and the FBI’s actions in connection with the Hillary Clinton and the Trump-Russia-probes.

“I agree with the many others who have called for the appointment of additional special counsel,” Scalise said in a statement.

In an interview on Fox News’ “justice With judge Jeanine” on Saturday, McCarthy said: “we need a second special counsel.”

“We need someone to look at this and not from the inside, because you can’t trust what’s happening,” McCarthy said.

In his statement, Scalise to the infamous, non-verified anti-Trump dossier, which was written by former British MI6 agent Christopher Steele, financed by the Democrats, and the FBI obtained a warrant from the FISA court to spy on the Trump adviser to Carter page.

Scalise said a second special counsel-in contrast to Special Counsel Robert Mueller — the “authority to look into the possible abuses of the FISA system should be allowed, the, the Democrat-funded serve Steele dossier as the basis for the first FBI investigation.”

On Tuesday, the New York GOP REP Lee Zeldin, the Republican challenge to the house-for a second special counsel, celebrated McCarthy’s and Scalise’s comments as “huge news.”

Speaker of the house of representatives, Paul Ryan has not been a member of the calls.


Last month, 13 house Republicans wrote a letter to sessions said that the appointment of another ” special counsel “was of the utmost importance.”

“As you know, evidence came to light that raised serious concerns about the decisions and activities of the leadership at the highest levels of the Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigation about how and why the Clinton probe ended, and how and why the trump-Russia’s probe began,” the letter said.

After that, house judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte and Rep. Trey Gowdy has also announced support for the appointment of a special investigating counsel, “conflicts of interest” and decisions are “made and not made” by current and former justice Department in 2016 and 2017.

Earlier this month, the meetings, was asked about the call for a second special counsel, told Fox News’ Shannon Bream: “I’ll consider the request.”
