Horror movie marathon-Night of Terror gets new name
The Night of Terror, a permanent part of the festival Imagine in Amsterdam, throwing the helm. The night in which a number of hardcore horror films is displayed gets a different name and have a different atmosphere than traditional practice.
That reports the organization Friday on her Facebook page. “That the shouting and abusing is not appreciated by everyone, we knew, of course. But last year, it has to be a serious declaration led”, state in a declaration to read.
Also had less and less cinemas in Amsterdam sentence for the enthusiastic, noisy nachtpubliek to accommodate. “All of this Imagine decide to do the rudder slightly to throw it.”
During the screenings is regularly cheered and shouted. Also sounded in the hall regularly out expletives. “The shout of homo, whore and racist expressions undermine the idea of enjoying horror films; no one wants us as more hosting and not everyone feels welcome at the event. That needs to change.”
The marathonnacht has now been given the name Fright Night and the program in and outside the hall is adjusted. “We want the best nachtpubliek of the world, something new to give to the teeth: with programming within and outside the hall, a big quiz, the keuzeklassieker, the Scream Queen Contest and more, we’re going to the hole. So we can win all!”
The first horrornacht new style of Imagine takes place on april 15 in Pathé De Munt. On the program are the zombie film, The Girl with All Gifts, the kampeerthriller Killing Ground and the home invasion film Red Christmas. The sales for the first Fright Night will soon start.
