The New York research institute Ethisphere has the 144 most ethical companies in 41 categories listed. In the category ‘clothing’ were the Swedish H&M and American companies, Levi Strauss and the Gap will be elected. Also, the British Marks & Spencer was given a place in the list, in the category ‘retail’.
The WME-list (World’s Most Ethical) lists every year the most ethical companies. This year, there were 144 companies selected in 41 categories , of which 21 are completely new names and 38 companies from outside the United States.
On the website of Ethisphere can read that the companies that were chosen to go further than only statements about ethical business conduct and their words into actions.’ The panel that the list is put together, consisting of professors, government officials, and lawyers. The research institute on its web site also the methodology of the research, explains.
H&M was for the tenth time recorded in the list. On 10 april, the Swedish label two sustainable collections and a sustainability report. Further, Gap, Levi Strauss and Marks & Spencer was voted the most ethical companies of 2014.
In the beauty and gezondheidscategorie were the French company L’oréal and the Japanese Shiseido chosen as the most ethical.
Belgium also took out the list with The Rezidor Hotel Group in the category of leisure and hospitality. (LP)
