On 11 november, Eagle Rock Entertainment ‘Havana Moon’, the recording of the free open air concert that the Stones, on march 25, 2016 in Havana were, out on DVD and Blu-ray.
Good Friday 25 march 2016 is a date with a bullet, both in Cuban history, as the history of rock ‘n’ roll. The Rolling Stones played the first rock band to a free open air concert for thousands of fans in Havana. The concert took place three days after the visit of Barack Obama to Cuba, as the first president of the United States in 88 years.
When the Stones, the stage entered a frenzied crowd, everyone knew that this is a historic moment for a country in full change. Mick Jagger welcomed the crowd with the words: “Finally, the times are changing. Cuba, we are very happy that we are here.”
A Cuban-Stones-fan put it after the end of the more than 2 hour long concert is as follows: “Wow never, never, never, never did I dare to think that this would ever happen. Tonight is a dream come true for me.”
This historic concert was recorded by the award-winning director Paul Dugdale, and the result is ‘Havana Moon’, The Roling Stones live in Cuba on DVD.
